Members Meeting - November 30, 2000 Thursday, November 30, 2000 at McGuire’s Irish Pub the Chapter will have the opportunity to meet and greet the new FDEP Air Program Administrator, Ms. Sandra Veazey. She will speak briefly on the "Breath Easy" grant the FDEP recently obtained. The meeting will start at 11:30. In addition, we are hoping that Jim Manning, Florida Section Chairman and Jim Estler, Chairman of the 2001 AWMA Annual Conference in Orlando will be attending. This meeting will be an excellent chance for our area to have a voice in what will shape the future of our organization and state. We are hoping for a strong turnout. Orlando 2001 The Florida Section Board is still looking for a few good volunteers to work in various committee slots for the upcoming AWMA International meeting. Please contact Jim Estler. In addition, the 2001 Meeting is looking for a few good companies to sponsor various programs and functions. These sponsorships range from $1000 to $20,000. This is a very pressing issue and any leads or ideas are welcome. Interested parties may contact Dennis Mitchell or Bill Zegel. P2 TV Show The Chapter helped sponsor the Escambia County Neighborhood & Environmental Services Department’s recent mini-series, "Pollution Prevention Works". This TV show now in it’s fourth year. Three recent programs included topics on Air Quality and the Breathe Easy Program, Stormwater, and Growth, Development and Habitat. |
