Elections
The results of our recent Board of Directors election have been finalized.
Both Carol Melton and Bruce McLeod will retain their position as Board members with Mr. Klaus Meyer-Arendt of the University of West Florida replacing John Caine. These three members will now serve a 2-year term
on the Board.

General Members Luncheon Meeting - March 29, 2001
Thursday, March 29, 2001 at McGuire’s Restaurant our Chapter will have
the opportunity to listen to Mr. Charlie Goddard, Florida DEP speak on the
current FDEP enforcement trends. This should include details on the newly
formed ‘Strike Force Team’ and their operations. In addition, he may have
one of the FDEP criminal investigators accompanying him. This should
make for a very interesting meeting. We hope you will attend!! The meeting
will start at 11:30 a.m.

Winners of the 2001 Environmental Steward Scholarships
The most recent winners of the Coastal Plains Chapter Environmental
Steward Scholarships have been announced. The Pensacola Junior College
award went to John King, the Okaloosa-Walton Community College award
to Torey C.J. Geile and the University of West Florida award to Christine Arnold
(no relation to Cynthia). Each of the recipients will receive an $800 scholarship.
Both the Coastal Plains Chapter and the Gulf Power Company make funding
for these scholarships possible.
