Annual Joint Florida/Alabama Technical Conference
It is not too early to start thinking about our upcoming technical conference. The date is set for Friday, May 17, 2002 at the Gulf Power Addison Auditorium from 0800 to 1700. Early registration fees are $35 for members and $45 for non-members and it is strongly encouraged. Aside from our typical engaging speakers and technical presentations, you will be provided with Lunch, Door Prizes, Vendor Exhibits and a Hospitality Hour. The theme of this year's meeting is undecided at this time. Suggestion for topics and/or presenters is most welcome. As always, please send you suggestions to any of the Chapter's Officers or Board Members.

ReCap Project
The Gas Cap Replacement Program (ReCap) is alive and well. Nancy Model, Pensacola Metropolitan Planning Organization Involvement Coordinator of the West Florida Regional Planning Council is spearheading the efforts to initiate the project. To refresh everyone's memory, ReCap is envisioned as a way to reduce the formation of ground level ozone. It has been included as a task in the Breathe Easy Project, an EPA grant program. Corporate sponsorship is needed to assist in the goal of replacing 1,400 gas caps in our area. To this end, your Coastal Plains Chapter has agreed to sponsor the purchase ($695) of a Waekon FPT2600-EX2 electronic tester used to test the fuel cap systems. If your corporation can help, please contact Nancy at 595-8910 ext. 213 or e-mail at modeln@wfrpc.dst.fl.us.
