General Members Luncheon Meeting - March 21, 2002
Thursday, March 21, 2002 in the new banquet facility at Copelands Restaurant in Pensacola, our Chapter will have the opportunity to listen to Ms. Michelle Dillar, Northwest District of the Florida DEP. Michelle is an Engineer III with the Storm Water Section. She will provide us with an update on storm water compliance and permitting issues. Michelle will also explain which projects are handled out of the NW District and the ones now handled out of Tallahassee. She will also provide new contacts name in Tallahassee. This should make for a interesting meeting. We hope you will attend!! The meeting will start at 11:30 a.m.
Winners of the 2002 Environmental Steward Scholarships
The most recent winners of the Coastal Plains Chapter Environmental Steward Scholarships were announced in December 2001. This year we awarded two scholarships at the University of West Florida. The recipients were Michael Somerville and Ryan Beggy. The Okaloosa-Walton Community College award went to Carla A. Stevens and Cecelia Desonia won the Gulf Coast Community College award. The Pensacola Junior College scholarship was not awarded due to the lack of participation. Each of the recipients will receive an $800 scholarship. In addition to the scholarship, each winner received a year's membership in the Coastal Plains Chapter. Our congratulations go out to all the winners and appreciation to each participant. Your Coastal Plains Chapter, the Gulf Power Company and International Paper make funding for these scholarships possible.
