Gulf Power received
another grant for $1200 this year to support the AWMA scholarship
fund. We haven’t awarded two of the
scholarships, yet, but the year end projected expenses do include
those scholarships being awarded. The Chapter would like to award
all scholarships before the end of 2002.
C. Arnold recognized D. Waters and B. McLeod for all of their work
on the scholarship program.
The Chapter brings in most of our money from memberships, Technical
Conference Registration, Vendor sponsorships of the Annual Meeting.

C. Arnold met with B. Leonard to discuss a possible P2 Technical
Workshop in lieu of a regular Chapter meeting in January. The meeting
will be held at Gulf Power. Meeting will include an icebreaker
/ brainstorming session to list environmental issues. Each participant
will be given 3 different colored dots to prioritize issues. Issues
will be prioritized as such and three smaller groups will be formed
to address the leading issues. Each group will discuss objectives,
funding, etc. The entire group will also need to draft a charter
and mission statement. The purpose of the meeting is to get the
effort off of the ground.
