Seventh Agenda Item: Comments & Open Discussion

D. Mitchell reported that EPA is looking at defining what the “qualified individual” is. Currently, a PE is the only qualified individual. The RCRA section is currently evaluating whether a QEP can certify documents. A vote will be taken in September 2003. C. Arnold suggested this should be put in the newsletter.

J. Meade reported that there is a company called “Regenises” which sells accelerated bioremediation chemicals for groundwater. He will be giving a presentation in September promoting this product. It will be a 2 to 3 hour technical seminar. Would AWMA like to cosponsor this event? The Chapter could help promote the meeting. C. Melton suggested that AWMA could provide food.

D. Waters suggested that we occasionally have a dinner meeting with one or two speakers. D. Mitchell suggested that we have an annual dinner meeting. C. Arnold suggested that we have a dinner meeting at the end of October. D. Mitchell offered to provide dinner music (and wear a tux!).

A motion to adjourn was made by J. Meade. Motion second. Motion passed. The meeting was adjourn at 1348.
