Third
Agenda Item: Treasurer’s Report (D. Waters)
As of July 2003, the chapter has $13,122.02 dollars in the account.
The Chapter earned between $5000 and $6000 from the May conference.
We had more vendors participate in 2003 than in the past. Nine
vendor slots were sold. C. Arnold inquired about how many new members
were obtained from the conference. A notice was sent out regarding
membership renewal. A second notice will be sent out to those members
who still need to renew their dues.Attending the May conference
does not renew one’s dues.
C. Arnold submitted the
Chapter Annual Report to both the Florida Section Chair and the
A&WMA Headquarters in Pittsburgh. The
Florida Section will submit an application for the Minasian Award
to A&WMA Headquarters to compete for that award.
Fourth Agenda Item: Old Business (Board)
Report on 2003 Joint Technical Conference
D. Waters commented that there was a lot of positive feedback about
distributing the certificates for PE, QEP, and Legal credits.
The conference registration was still a bit disorganized. There
was still some confusion over who pre-payed and who had to pay
at the door. D. Waters said that probably little could be done
at this time to improve the process. J. Meade volunteered to lead
a committee to improve next year’s registration process.
There appeared to be adequate food. The Happy Hour was a success.
There were 30 or 40 attendees.
